The evening BS in Biology with a specialization in Histotechnology program provides intense training in histotechnology through a combination of lectures, hands-on laboratory experience and clinical internships. It is one of only three programs of its kind in the United States accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

Miami Dade College * Miami, Florida - Histologic Technology Program
As part of your twenty-four month associate in science degree program, you will gain the knowledge of tissue and cellular structure. You will develop skills in preparing, fixing processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining tissue, including brain, kidney, bone and muscle tissue. Actual surgical specimens are used in the laboratory settings. As part of the program a supervised internship at an affiliated hospital, research or private laboratories is required. Florida State College * Jacksonville, Florida - Histologic Technology Program
This limited access program is an Associate in Science degree program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). Students who pass the HT (ASCP) exam will be eligible for Florida licensure in histotechnology through the Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel, Department of Health. Selected histologic technology courses are formatted for Web-based delivery. Students may find it difficult to work during the practicum phase of the education (last two semesters) due to the number of required contact hours per week. There are five required weekend laboratories that are held at the North Campus in Jacksonville. *** Online Program

Keiser University’s Associate of Science degree in Histotechnology prepares students to perform laboratory studies of tissue. The program includes the study of cellular morphology, chemical composition and the functions of normal and abnormal tissue. Students study the composition of dyes and chemicals and gain a thorough understanding of tissue composition.
